Verborgene Geschichten. Blicke ins Depot Zentralasien des Ethnologischen Museums
With a focus on Central Asia—the geographical region from which the majority of the collection originates—participants get a behind-the-scenes look.
Curator Dr. Melanie Krebs will show selected collection rooms where a significant portion of the research work takes place.
The tour offers a glimpse into the vast number of objects preserved in the museum, but also allows for a close-up view of individual items—whether embroidery, metalwork, or clothing from everyday life in Central Asia at the end of the 19th century. The curator will also discuss how these objects are currently being handled.
