Democracy, elections, self-determination. How much say do young people and people with disabilities really have? Is all of this just for the cats?

What would happen if cats sat in the Bundestag? What issues would be discussed? And what would this mean for animals and people?

Cats are everywhere. On the internet, on the street, at home. Whether cute, arrogant, (in)dependent, funny, bringers of bad luck or good luck, people love them. And we now know that cats are very social.

“Democatz” is a research project in which 10 children and teenagers, together with the artistic team, set out to discover what people think about cats and what we can learn from them about our democracy.

In June, “Democatz” invites the audience to make decisions—big and small—together, amidst scratching posts and balls of yarn.

Relaxed Performance

We want everyone to feel comfortable with us. That’s why we design our performances as Relaxed Performances. “Relaxed Performance” is English and means “a relaxed performance.” Relaxed Performances are aimed at all audience members who benefit from a more relaxed atmosphere and accessible conditions.
