Built in 1908 - older than the Weimar Republic, quieter than any modern boat

The HEMINGWAY is not a modern tour boat. She is a salon vessel over 115 years old - wood-panelled interiors, a real wheelhouse where the captain stands, craftsmanship from an era when the Reichstag and Berlin Cathedral had just been completed and the Roaring Twenties were still ahead. The HEMINGWAY looks the way you imagine a ship should look - not flat, not faceless, but with a proper hull, timber and character. Named after the writer who knew that the best stories happen on the move. Step aboard and you step into the very era you are about to sail through.

Then the HEMINGWAY casts off. Silently. Since 2025 she glides across the River Spree on a fully electric drive - no diesel, no vibrations, no engine noise. Every ripple at the bow becomes audible. At certain points music drifts in - songs of longing from the GDR, freedom anthems from East and West, classics chosen to match the places where they play. And in between: silence. Space for every guitar string, every splash, every thought. A one-of-a-kind experience - lovingly curated by the crew of FLAGSHIP.BERLIN.

History you don't just see

On the outbound leg an audio guide shares stories of the city - entertaining because you see everything the moment it is told. You glide past buildings that date from the same era as the ship beneath your feet.

After the turn at Mühlendamm the guide falls silent. The uniformed crew brings your drink to your seat - you lean back. Whether on the sun deck, the covered aft deck or in the salon with panoramic windows: you sit comfortably on board, drink in hand, and let Berlin drift past. On the banks people wave at you - because a beautiful ship gliding silently along the Spree makes people happy. Not just those on board.

The voyage on the HEMINGWAY is the hour in which Berlin comes together. The hour in between that doesn't cost energy - it gives it.
