In the face of budget cuts, a shift to the right, and a world where regressive and conservative trends are the order of the day, they want to make it clear: the independent arts scene will not be pushed aside. They resist—together—and demonstrate how vital art and culture are to a free society.
RESIST! is a project that provides thirteen artists with a rehearsal space, a place for practice, exchange, and discourse over two and a half months—almost unconditionally and without performance requirements. For artistic creation requires more than pressure and urgency: it needs opportunities for connection, fertile ground, and moments of pause in order to grow and survive.
The evening begins with a thematic discussion on new forms of fascism, resistance, and solidarity. Following this, various artists will present excerpts from their work, short interventions, calls to action, and much more.
At the end, Studio 14 transforms into a dance floor—because dancing together and creating physical connections sends a message against isolation and thus becomes a form of resistance in itself.
