How far will we go to save nature?

What if the woolly mammoth were to roam the tundra once more? Or if other extinct species could return thanks to biotechnology? Together, they are all dedicated to a promise that sounds like science fiction—and yet is already becoming reality: the return of extinct species.

"Enden: The Return"—the new season of the Undone and Futurium podcast, released in November 2025—accompanies scientists who are attempting precisely that. It raises questions that extend far beyond the laboratory and research:

  • Can humans truly turn back the clock?
  • What does that say about our relationship with nature?

Inspired by the insights of this podcast, the guests examine this vision in detail.

Between hope and hubris, technological possibilities and ethical questions, they explore the limits of what is feasible—and what role these technologies could play in the future.

How will "reclaiming" nature affect the future of landscapes, biodiversity, and resource use? Ultimately, it all revolves around the question of how humanity wants to live in harmony with nature: as guardians, creators, or repairers.
