How politicians can benefit from researcher knowledge
During this time, no other science-based political consulting institution was more in the focus of public attention than the Leopoldina.
Talk with Leopoldina President Gerald Haug, the Leopoldina members Jutta Gärtner and Armin Nassehi, the former head of the Chancellery Helge Braun and Elisa Hoven, a legal scholar and Saxon constitutional judge, about their experiences from this time and about what science-based political advice actually is and how it works, what problems arise and how quality standards can be guaranteed under high pressure.
The aim of this event is to talk about the relationship between democracy and science.
A joint event with the National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina.
