Famous works of violin literature

Latica Honda-Rosenberg is among the first representatives of the generation of young violinists to establish themselves in the concert world. Winning the silver medal at the 1998 Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow paved the way for her international career.

The magazine 'The Strad' commented: "Her confidence and determination immediately bring to mind Heifetz. Her musical language and playing are eloquent, expressive, subtle, and varied—in short, wonderful and delightful."

Born to a Croatian cellist and a Japanese singer, Latica Honda-Rosenberg grew up in Germany and began playing the violin at the age of four. At nine, she became a junior student at the Detmold University of Music under Tibor Varga. She continued her studies with Zakhar Bron at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid and at the Lübeck Academy of Music.

She made her orchestral debut at the Berlin Philharmonie in 1989 as part of the "Debut on Deutschland Radio" series, accompanied by the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin.

In addition to her international concert career, Latica Honda-Rosenberg has held a professorship for violin at the Freiburg University of Music since 2003. Since 2009, she has been a professor at the Berlin University of the Arts. She also leads masterclasses in Germany, Italy (Gustav Mahler Academy), France, Croatia, Portugal, and Israel (Keshet Eilon Music Center).
