MARC BOUCHKOV, LIR VAGINSKY, ORI KAM & HILA KARNI
Mark Bouchkov has long performed on the world's greatest stages as a soloist and chamber musician, Lir Vaginsky is considered a rising star in the violin world, and Ori Kam and Hila Karni were long-standing members of renowned ensembles such as the Jerusalem String Quartet and the Mondrian Trio.
These four internationally acclaimed musicians form a string quartet in a class of its own, whose programme juxtaposes Beethoven's String Quartet in C minor, Op. 18 No. 4 and Mendelssohn's Quartet in A minor, Op. 13.
Beethoven's early work already shows his urge to expand the classical form and deepen its expression. Around 30 years later, Mendelssohn – at just 18 years of age – picks up on this and combines this influence with his own lyrical, romantic language.
