Outcast and happy? The geisha Cio-Cio-San is prepared to renounce family and religion in order to find her supposed happiness with Marine Lieutenant Pinkerton. Unfortunately, he proves to be a heartless egoist who shows at best a hint of remorse when he realizes the full extent of his ruthless behavior.
