Balkan Beats*Eastern Ska*PolkaPunk*Klezmer'n'Swing
In July, none other than YURIY GURZHY will be taking to the turntables – musician, producer, DJ, author, columnist, theatre maker, compilation curator and probably a whole lot more besides. In short: a cultural Swiss Army knife from Ukraine.

Look forward to a wild journey through Ukrainian sounds, klezmer history, Eastern European folklore, reggae offbeats and electronic surprises such as Chornobayivka Beat & Bavovna Electro.
Dancing is expressly encouraged.
DJ and host KARACHO RABAUKIN will also be delving deep into her musical bag of tricks: Balkan wedding fanfares meet Eastern ska, klezmer, polka-punk, Romani beats and Balkan pop. Melancholy meets ecstasy, circle dancing meets dancehall, vodka meets beads of sweat.
In short: hands in the air, feet off the ground. Hejde and Opa – together, it all becomes Diskoteka Balkanska!
Resident Karacho Rabaukin and avariety of guest DJs let it rip with wedding fanfare from the Balkans, they mix ska with folk sounds from Eastern Europe, polka punk from the Carpathians with klezmer and swingstomper from the last century, Romano hip hop and Roma sounds from the new millennium and Arabic beats with dancehall in the dress of Balkan pop. Melodies between lust for life and melancholy, vodka-soaked dance beats between ecstasy and tight dance, kolo and circle dance.

Mobility restrictions for visitors:
The main entrance has three steps. Wheelchair users can be admitted via the side entrance. Thresholds there are less than 1cm and can also be easily overcome by heavy electric wheelchairs. This entrance has to be unlocked during events, which our colleagues at the door are happy to do. We ask for a little patience if the situation is not right, but you will usually be given preferential treatment. In the SO36 itself there are almost no barriers, apart from two small thresholds on the fire doors, also under 1 cm.
Toilet:
There is a wheelchair-accessible toilet, the key is available at the counter or at the cash register/door. Accompanying persons have free entry.
If you are going to a concert, you can also request a platform with a ramp. If it's somehow feasible, we'll set it up in a spot with a good view. Please let the office know about a week in advance (by phone on 030/61401306 or by email to post@so36.de).
