Theater OST production based on a story by Fyodor Dostoevsky
With the story "The Crocodile," which forms the basis of our production, we begin by introducing the lighthearted side of Dostoevsky. The crocodile draws its power from the absurd premise of a man swallowed by a reptile and comfortably settling into the monster's belly.
In this story, Dostoevsky mocks the economic principle and capitalism, in which humanity is valued only for profit. He takes aim at the out-of-touch Russian administration and rigid social structures.
Ultimately, the story also reveals itself as a satire on the madness of rampant bureaucracy, which seems no longer able to cope with an increasingly complex world. A story could hardly be more relevant today.
