Concert with Aleksandr Volkov on the Goldberg organ, newly built in 2025
The musical program ranges from the North German organ tradition to arrangements of important cantata movements by Johann Sebastian Bach, including the famous Schübler Chorales.
The selected works impressively showcase the tonal diversity, colors, and expressive possibilities of the new organ. The concert will be performed by organist Aleksandr Volkov. Born in Glazov in 2003, Volkov received his comprehensive musical training in St. Petersburg, where he graduated with honors from the Mikhail Glinka Choir College in 2022. Since then, he has been studying organ at the Berlin University of the Arts and has also been taking harpsichord lessons since 2025.
Despite his young age, Aleksandr Volkov has already performed in many European countries and impresses audiences with his remarkable musical maturity, stylistic assurance, and great expressiveness.
This concert thus combines several special occasions: Johann Sebastian Bach's birthday, the joy of our new organ, and the opportunity to follow a young, highly gifted musician on his artistic journey.
The program includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Dietrich Buxtehude, Heinrich Scheidemann, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and George Frideric Handel.
- Admission is free; donations are welcome.
