Georg Büchner's fragment WOYZECK (1837) is a true tragedy of ordinary life. Woyzeck, a poor soldier, is the protagonist of the drama. He is an outsider, abused in a medical experiment, mocked by his superior, betrayed by his wife, and ostracized by the world.
