59th Cabinet Exhibition at the Protestant Center Berlin

Spanish artist Andrés Galeano collects skies—more precisely, fragments of skies from photographs he discovers at flea markets or in old photo albums. From these found objects, he composes multifaceted studies of the sky.

Viewed together, they tell not only of the sky's diverse color moods but also of their origins—from vacation moments, family celebrations, or landscape shots. For Andrés Galeano, every photograph is an attempt to transcend a moment.

As a collector of images and self-proclaimed post-photographer, he also pays tribute to a piece of amateur photography history. In his work, he reflects on the human longing for transcendence and encapsulates it in the sky's multifaceted colors.

Bishop Stäblein regularly invites artists to present their works on the bishop's floor of the Protestant Center. In this more intimate setting, works from the fields of painting, graphic arts, sculpture, and photography are showcased. This fosters a vibrant dialogue between the church and contemporary art.

Please note: The exhibition is closed on public holidays.

Admission is free.
