2nd Guitar Days at St. Peter's Church: "Painting with Sound" - Fusion of Art and Music
To open the Guitar Days, you can expect a concert experience that will captivate both your ears and your eyes. The Scotsman newspaper once described David Allison's work as "painting with sound"—and with "Painting with Sound," this description becomes a reality. Here, music and visual art merge into a breathtaking, unified experience.
The acoustic guitar is David's primary instrument, often played using looping technology. As a multi-instrumentalist, he also enjoys experimenting with wonderful instruments such as the concert zither, the Turkish saz, and the Arabic oud.
Together with digital artist Cyrille Pain, he creates visual worlds that intertwine with live-generated soundscapes. Using his looping technique, Allison builds dense, cinematic soundscapes in real time, while the digital image compositions interact with the music. The result is an immersive journey through an artistic universe, where the audience experiences every moment of the creative process—intensely, directly, and personally.
9–10 p.m.: JAM SESSION & OPEN STAGE
Afterwards, guitarists Davis Allison and Ian Melrose will play some of their favorite songs and welcome further musical contributions from fellow musicians.
