The Georgian a cappella choir Ensemble Maspindzeli will be performing an extraordinary concert at the Auenkirche. The program features traditional Georgian melodies that reflect the region's cultural diversity and offer a fascinating glimpse into the country's polyphonic singing tradition.

Polyphonic singing traditions have existed in Georgia for millennia and have evolved over time into a unique and multifaceted art form. The musical themes range from love songs, dance songs, and banquet songs to work songs, praises of nature, and religious hymns. For its exceptional beauty and cultural significance, Georgian choral music has gained worldwide recognition and has been recognized as part of UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2007.

The Ensemble Maspindzeli was founded in 2011 in Samtredia, western Georgia, and has since dedicated itself wholeheartedly to the interpretation of traditional Georgian songs. In addition to regular performances at St. David Agmashenebeli Cathedral in Samtredia, the ensemble frequently appears at national and international festivals. They captivate audiences with masterfully performed polyphonic church hymns and authentic folk songs from various regions of Georgia.

Immerse yourself in the magical soundscape of Georgia and let the singers' exceptional voices enchant you.
