stARTfestival 2026

The large black wooden box that produces such beautiful sounds fascinated her even as a child in her native Valais – her mother would put her to bed with melodies by Schumann or Mendelssohn.

At the age of eleven, she heard Johann Brahms' Second Piano Concerto – and decided to become a pianist. Today, Beatrice Berrut is praised for her distinctive expression and bold interpretations of classics such as Liszt.

But her heart also beats for pop music, for Muse, Radiohead and Portishead. Her programmes are finely crafted.

In a duo with bassist Nadir Graa, Beatrice Berrut uses another instrument in addition to the piano and electronics: her voice, which can sound warm and deep at times, bright and ethereal at others.

Look forward to music at the intersection of trip hop, pop and poetry – powerful, dreamlike, deeply personal.
