Learning to shape futures
The future is uncertain – but we can shape it. Find out how at this Open Lab evening. You'll learn about the Human-Centered Design method, which allows us to approach complex problems creatively and with a focus on solutions.
Human-Centered Design puts people at the heart of the innovation process. The goal is to develop solutions that are truly needed. In this workshop, participants will delve deeply into the issue, develop empathy for different perspectives, and create initial prototypes for a more climate-friendly agriculture.
The workshop will explore how agriculture can become more climate-friendly without jeopardizing food security.
Agriculture is both a contributor to and a victim of climate change. It must adapt to ensure continued stable yields – while simultaneously finding ways to contribute to climate protection. The focus will be on approaches that are practical, equitable, and sustainable.
In this workshop, participants will look at agriculture in 2040:
• How can agriculture adapt to climate change?
• What political frameworks and societal changes are necessary?
• How can agriculture itself contribute to climate protection?
Together, participants will develop innovative ideas and create initial prototypes for a sustainable agriculture.
This event is part of the workshop series "Learning to Shape Futures," which takes place once a month during the Open Lab evening. In a total of four modules, you will learn sound methods for shaping the future, which you can compile into your own individual toolkit for future-oriented methods.
Workshop Leader:
The Berlin Idea Lab is a laboratory for transformation design. The team supports organizations in the design process of future-proof product and service innovations, as well as desirable visions of the future, using methods from futures studies, design thinking, and visual storytelling.
