NoonSong - Song & Prayer

Eight-part
romantic music for the royal Berlin Cathedral Choir is featured in this
NoonSong, along with an elaborate motet by the Prince of Mantua from the
Renaissance period. The works bear witness to the artistic sensibility and
religious roots of some rulers and still move us today.

Liturgie: Estomihi

  • Preces: Gabriel Jackson (1962-): Preces und Responses
  • Tagespsalm: Psalm 71b Jakob Heinrich Lützel (1823-1899): Herr, mein Gott, ich trau auf Dich

  • Canticum: Guglielmo Gonzaga (1538-1587): Sic Deus dilexit mundum

NoonSong - what's that?

Every Saturday at noon, locals, visitors to Berlin, music fans and architecture enthusiasts gather for NoonSong. It is both a concert and a church service, developed from Anglican Evensong. Eight professional singers from the vocal ensemble sirventes berlin perform choral music under the direction of Stefan Schuck. The repertoire ranges from Renaissance music to contemporary compositions.
