58th Cabinet Exhibition
Georg Weise's artistic work encompasses painting, drawing and sculpture. In his paintings, he processes memories of childhood and youth into mystical, partly abstract landscapes with images of growth and transience.
His works deal with nature and humanity, loneliness, longing for redemption and vulnerability, without creating idealised representations. This results in a special visual language that invites the viewer to engage personally with the moods depicted and to enter into a dialogue with a self-portrait.
Bishop Christian Stäblein regularly invites artists to present their work in cabinet exhibitions on the bishop's floor of the Konsistorium, the Protestant Centre in Berlin. The exhibitions showcase artistic positions in painting, graphic art and photography, thereby enriching the dialogue between the church and contemporary art.
