With Christian Brembeck on the harpsichord
Experience a very special Christmas concert at Schönhausen Palace with the new programme ‘Solitude solitaire’ by conductor, organist, harpsichordist and pianist Christian Brembeck. The exceptional artist plays masterpieces by two of the most important French Baroque composers, Louis Couperin and Jean-Philippe Rameau, as well as Johann Sebastian Bach on the harpsichord.
Brembeck studied at the Munich Academy of Music with Franz Lehrndorfer, among others. He travelled throughout Europe, Israel and Far East Asia with the Tölzer Knabenchor boys' choir. Under the general music director Celibidache, he was organist and pianist for the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra.
For a time, he directed the Capella Istropolitana, the New Court Chapel of Munich. He founded the original sound ensemble Parthenia Vocal & Baroque and the series ‘Alte Musik in Roggenstein’ (Early Music in Roggenstein). He is interested in undiscovered Baroque literature and historical keyboard instruments, and teaches organ and instrument making.
He is also an actor: in 2007, he played the role of Johann Sebastian Bach in the film ‘Die Stille vor Bach’ (The Silence Before Bach), set in Leipzig.
Enjoy the work of this versatile, excellent musician!
