Heinrich von Kleist: The Broken Jug for the Pop Music Generation
With expressive playfulness and a distinctive mix of theater, puppetry, and pop music, Berlin-based performer Bridge Markland brings Heinrich von Kleist's classic "The Broken Jug" to the stage in a completely new form.

In her solo production, she transforms the comedy into a fast-paced courtroom show for the pop music generation – entertaining, surprising, and profound.
The characters appear as puppets, and the action is accompanied by pop songs – a format that catapults Kleist's work into the present day.
As the magazine tip Berlin aptly puts it: "This is how one hopes to find the contemporary equivalent of Kleist's only comedy in the sounds and lyrics of modern music."
