Alongside the popular summer festival, this is the second major street festival that seems to be establishing itself in this special neighbourhood street.
Numerous owner-operated shops, together with artisans and designers from Berlin and the surrounding region, invite visitors to stroll around on this Advent Sunday when the shops are open for business.
Leonhardtstraße is considered one of the most charming ‘social ecotopes’ in Berlin – a street that has retained its character and defied change: Despite rising rents, growing online trade and increasing bureaucracy, the businesses based here continue to focus on personal encounters, quality and authenticity. Goldsmiths, bookshops and design shops line the street as a matter of course – open, creative and idiosyncratic at the same time.
