Museum curator Dr. Beate Witzel introduces the exhibition format and presents an object from the Geological Collection.
Museologist and collection curator Dr. Beate Witzel provides information on site about the "Object of the Month" - a presentation in the salon of the Museum Ephraim-Palais, which is open to the public free of charge on all opening days of the museum. The changing objects on display there present new acquisitions, provide insights into projects of the Stadtmuseum Berlin or tell stories from Berlin's past.
On November 3, 1875, scientific history was written in Berlin. Geologist Otto Torell was able to prove the existence of ice ages for the first time on the basis of glacial striations in the rock. Dr. Beate Witzel presents a stone testimony to this extreme climatic period that still shapes Berlin's landscape today.
