Kramer Restaurant

A culinary game with fire

At Kramer Restaurant in Neukölln, the open fire takes center stage. Since 2023, experienced chefs have been creating extraordinary dishes there, combining Latin American and Japanese influences and bringing the primal feeling of cooking into the present, right in the heart of Berlin.

The centrepiece of the Kramer Restaurant is a massive stone oven with an open fireplace, which creates a very special atmosphere. Seasonal ingredients are cooked over embers, wood and heat to create flavourful, smoky dishes right in front of the guests. The restaurant's L-shaped room combines clear architecture with wild liveliness, with plants hanging from the ceiling. The dishes are served on ceramic crockery specially made by Fabian Kramer. The plates and bowls reflect the impressions he gathered while travelling in Japan, the Philippines, Mexico and Spain. The crockery on which the delicately plated dishes are presented in the best possible light is quite coarse and naturalistic.

The idea for the restaurant concept also came from Kramer himself, who discovered his passion for cooking over flames while travelling in South East Asia and Mexico. On his return to Berlin, he realised a fire kitchen in the heart of the capital and, together with architect Thilo Reich, developed an innovative system in which the fire is not only used for cooking, but can also heat the flats above the restaurant.

Whether a dinner by the crackling fire or an evening with drinks and small dishes: The Kramer is a place for enjoyment, encounters and special experiences. Visitors to the restaurant can look forward to fruity pineapple ceviche or grilled stone bass with sansho pepper and roasted aubergine - always accompanied by the unique interplay of fire and flavour.
