The Flag is a solo dance that traces the search for balance, spatial orientation, and stability within the flux of instability—a meditation on holding presence, integrity, and values as the world shifts. Body and fabric enter a dialogue that gives rise to intricate visual metaphors, shaping a dramaturgy of presence, resistance, and transformation.
The performance draws the audience into a visceral encounter with space, form, and movement, where body and textile merge and part, constantly redefining what it means to move, to endure, and to exist.
The textile responds to the dancer—folding, collapsing, resisting, expanding—creating a landscape in perpetual flux, one the body must navigate. Fabric becomes terrain and partner, a site of challenge and possibility, where meaning emerges through rhythm, relation, and action. In this unfolding dialogue of body, material, and space, movement becomes language, and each gesture inscribes itself into the living fabric of the performance.
