In a time that tests democracy daily, in which freedom and diversity of opinion are under pressure everywhere, film is more than entertainment – it becomes a lever, a gathering, a strategy.
The 41st edition of the INTERFILM Festival calls for spaces to be created amidst all the chaos, crises, and constructed narratives, where solidarity can thrive, resistance grows, memories remain alive, and utopias germinate.
As always, INTERFILM asks not only what people see, but rather how they can act. Where do spaces for solidarity, resistance, memory, and utopia emerge? How do people preserve stories that would otherwise fall silent in the noise of crises? And how do they manage to hold on to one another instead of breaking one another?
The programs tell of those who, despite dark times, move on, reach out, laugh, cry, argue – and grow stronger together. A solar eclipse doesn't have to be the end. They use the darkness as a starting point to weave together what defines people:
Stories, community—and perhaps a bit of madness to carry them through the week. Film isn't just art, it's a statement.
