Roman Knižka and Opus 45
The focus is on the years 1945 to 1949 – a time between ruins and new beginnings, winters of hunger and new beginnings. Texts by Wolfgang Borchert, Bertolt Brecht, Nelly Sachs, and others provide insights into life after the end of the war, complemented by music by Ludwig van Beethoven, Hanns Eisler, and Dmitri Shostakovich. A focus is on the end of the war in 1945 in Berlin-Karlshorst.
Musical accompaniment by the Ensemble OPUS 45 with musicians from the Hamburg State Opera, the Dresden Philharmonic, the NDR Radio Philharmonic Hannover, and the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn.
