Rigoletti (West woman) reads the GDR

Rigoletti – a "West woman" in former East Berlin – reads her way through the GDR. Through literature, pictures, diaries, letters, soundbites, and videos, she pieces together a multifaceted mosaic of a contradictory country. A Germany both loved and hated, which harbored many secrets until the fall of the Wall.

Well-known names such as Christa Wolf, Volker Braun, Stephan Heym, Wolf Biermann, Jurek Becker appear, as do Brigitte Reimann, Franz Fühmann, Helga M. Novak, Sarah Kirsch, and Erich Loest. What was behind the Bitterfeld Way?

And what actually happened at the 11th Plenum? Rigoletti's audiovisual literary show provides pointed answers – witty, critical, and surprising.
