Expert guided tour with the conservators Robert Kannis and Roland Will, both SPSG
To renovate the roof of the New Palace, 98 sandstone parapet sculptures have to be dismantled. This is a unique moment when the sculptures, which are up to 3.70 m high and weigh 3.5 to 4 tons, can be inspected up close.

The colossal beauties have to be seen from a great distance and now reveal the virtuoso signature of the sculptor up close. During the tour, the SPSG's specialist restorers will explain the sculptor's techniques and the sustainable concept for restoring the sculptures.
