NoonSong - Song & Prayer

Music from
the Renaissance and Baroque periods characterises this NoonSong. The
Franco-Flemish polyphony by Clemens non Papa seems enraptured, as if from a
distant, different world, as does the simple but impressive setting by
Gesualdo, known as a murderer. Much closer and more directly appealing is the
late baroque music of Pachelbel, which offers us immediate consolation.

Liturgie: 3. Sonntag im Advent

  • Canticum: Carlo Gesualdo (1566-1613): Benedictus

NoonSong - what's that?

Every Saturday at noon, locals, visitors to Berlin, music fans and architecture enthusiasts gather for NoonSong. It is both a concert and a church service, developed from Anglican Evensong. Eight professional singers from the vocal ensemble sirventes berlin perform choral music under the direction of Stefan Schuck. The repertoire ranges from Renaissance music to contemporary compositions.
