Thomas Ankersmit is a musician and composer based in Berlin and Amsterdam.Ankersmit performs the music entirely on the Serge Modular, the analog synthesizer that celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, and that he's dedicated himself to for almost 20 years now:

A music that insists on building a entire world from a jungle of patch cords. A kind of musique concrète, but made entirely out of analog, electrical signals. Where electricity is sometimes “itself" and is sometimes transformed into an almost organic, life-like sound.
A music that is tuned – quite literally – to the resonances of the performance space. Music for modular synthesizer that is itself modular – an open form that can be reconfigured and tuned depending on the setting.
Berlin-based Justin works with sound as textured material, forming sculptural sonic environments often shaped by spatial considerations. Oriented toward close, tactile listening, Justin’s live sets evoke speculative scenes, exploring realms of shifting densities and bodily intensity.
