MAIORANO live

MAIORANO offer a unique blend of earthy, groovy and melancholic dreamy pop music, enriched with elements of soul and funk.


The band is led by Italian-born singer and guitarist Alex Maiorano and accompanied by his long-time friends Alessio D'Alessandro on drums and Nicola Battistelli on saxophone and keyboards.

The line-up is completed by Argentine bassist Mauro Martinez, who adds a distinctive dose of groove and funk to the band's sound. The music is carried by Alex's casual, warm vocals, underpinned by the tight rhythm section and powerful saxophone solos.

The members of MAIORANO live in Berlin, but spent their formative years in small Italian towns, where they began making music in their young, rebellious years. After moving to Berlin, they pursued their musical ambitions with determination and quickly found a connection to the local music scene. Their second album, Luna Nova (2022), marked the beginning of a new sound, influenced by the isolation of the lockdown period. The name comes from an old Italian song celebrating the new moon, with Alex delving into deeper themes in his lyrics and bringing Italian influences even more to the fore. Their energetic, groovy live performances have already earned them support slots for bands such as Say She She, St. Paul and The Broken Bones, The Murlocs, Detroit Cobras, The Temples and others.
