Excavations on Petriplatz in Berlin's historic center uncovered traces of settlements dating back to the founding of the twin cities of Berlin and Cölln, as well as the foundations of a Latin school and the remains of St. Peter's Church.

PETRI Berlin
The PETRI Berlin Archaeology Lab now stands directly above the foundations of the medieval Latin school and invites visitors to discover Berlin's often hidden heritage and immerse themselves in the fascinating world of archaeology.
Tours and admission are free of charge on Heritage Day from September 13th to 14th, 2025.
