60 Years of Sound & Community – Berliner Cappella (1965 – 2025)

The Berliner Cappella is a mixed choir that has been an integral part of Berlin's musical scene for over 60 years. Known for its exceptional programming, the Cappella focuses on contemporary music, premieres, and the rediscovery of unknown works – especially by female composers. The repertoire is complemented by choral-symphonic classics and the BERLINER CAPPELLA a cappella series.

Founded by Peter Schwarz, Gunter Berger, Kerstin Behnke, and Maike Bühle later shaped the choir's work. Sergi Gili Solé has directed the Berliner Cappella since 2019, combining tradition with new, often politically inspired accents.
