Born in Vienna, Hedy Lamarr was an actress and brilliant inventor. Her film career began in 1933 with the lead role in the film “Ecstasy” when she was just 18 years old. She caused a scandal with a nude scene and her open admission to a fulfilling sex life. Her first film was immediately banned in Nazi Germany.
In Hollywood, however, she gained a foothold as an actress and officially changed her name to Hedy Lamarr.
Beyond the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, she was a gifted mathematician and scientist and received several awards. With her invention of frequency hopping technology, she laid the foundation for our modern communication systems.
Directed by author Wilhelm Pellert, actress and singer Gina Pietsch will playfully recount this multifaceted life. She will be accompanied by pianist Bardo Henning, who will complement the performance with thematically related songs.
