"The Way We're Born“-Tour

Aysanabee is going on a major headline tour called ‘The Way We're Born’ this autumn with his new album ‘Edge of the Earth’! The artist will play in Berlin on 14 October.

After two impressive support tours through Canada with Allison Russell and Dan Mangan, the Eastern Canada tour in the spring and numerous appearances at international festivals, it is now time for Aysanabee to step into the spotlight and present his powerful music, including the radio hits ‘Nomads’, ‘We Were Here,’ ‘Somebody Else’ and his latest chart single ‘Edge of the Earth.’

The energy of his current album, ‘Edge of the Earth,’ is fuelled by a central question: "Am I ready to take the leap into the unknown? And have I learned enough to find my way?‘ ’Edge of the Earth" is an ambitious, transformative project that further develops Aysanabee's soundscape and explores the nature of change and its impact on his life, relationships and perspective. The album's title and themes navigate the boundaries drawn by decisions made at key moments.

Aysanabee (pronounced Ace-in-abbey) is a multi-award-winning alternative indie artist, multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer-songwriter. He is a member of the Oji Cree people and comes from the Sucker Clan of the Sandy Lake First Nation, a remote community accessible only by plane in the far north-west of Ontario, Canada. Now based in Toronto, he began releasing music under his mother's maiden name during those rare moments of calm when he could pause and create music that, he says, more authentically reflects him as an artist.

His sound is a hypnotic, melodic blend of indie, soul and electronic elements, punctuated by infectious fingerpicking.

On 23 March 2024, Aysanabee made history when he became the first Indigenous artist to win the JUNO Awards for ‘Alternative Album of the Year’ and the coveted ‘Songwriter of the Year’ award for his EP ‘Here and Now’.

With ‘Here and Now’ (2023), Aysanabee struck out in a new artistic direction, drawing on personal experiences of the end of love and a relentless process of self-reflection. His debut album ‘Watin’ (2022), named after his grandfather, comprises ten songs and nine interludes featuring his grandfather's voice, a work that uniquely combines music, journalism and artistic expression.

His music has been recognised with numerous awards and has found widespread support. In March 2023, he became the first First Nation artist to reach number one on Mediabase Canada's Alternative Rock charts. He was later shortlisted for the prestigious 2023 Polaris Music Prize.

Aysanabee has played over 300 concerts worldwide, including AmericanaFestUK, Tallinn Music Week, The Great Escape, Reeperbahn Festival and SXSW Sydney in 2024.
