This year, the Heimatkundliche Vereinigung Spandau 1954 e.V. received the estate of its former chairman Gerhard Hinz, who died in 2017.

For the first time, the association and its First Chairwoman Ina Bittroff are presenting the extensive research documents relating to his 2002 publication "Spandau im Zweiten Weltkrieg. Eyewitness accounts, documents, reflections", published in 2002. Some of the eyewitness accounts in these documents were not mentioned in his book and are being presented for the first time.
