based on the graphic novel by Ken Krimstein translated from English by Hanns Zischler
Her life resembles a multifaceted novel: Born in Königsberg in the 1910s, she studied under Heidegger and Jaspers, experienced the culturally vibrant Berlin of the 1920s, the intellectual Paris of the 1930s, and finally, exile, escape, and a new beginning.
The catastrophes of the 20th century shaped her thinking—and her work. Hannah Arendt suddenly rose to prominence in 1951 with "Elements and Origins of Totalitarianism." When she reported on the Eichmann trial in 1961 and called the defendant a "buffoon," she sparked a heated debate—and remained steadfast.
The American cartoonist and author Ken Krimstein, known from The New Yorker and the Wall Street Journal, dedicated his impressive graphic novel *The Three Lives of Hannah Arendt* to the great thinker and recounted her biography in expressive drawings.
Director Theresa Thomasberger brings this journey of life to the stage as an inspiring journey of thought through the 20th century.
