The piece is the result of a four-week neo-African dance project exploring the historical effects of modern societies characterised by colonial and imperialist systems and structures of oppression and dependency.

It explores how a rebellious society can pool its internal resources to free itself from external forces and influences, achieving sovereignty in the process.

Drawing inspiration from the philosophies of Thomas Sankara and Ibrahim Traoré, Afro-somatic dance elements play a central role in the movement vocabulary, serving as a valuable tool to delve deeply into the functioning and movement of the body.
