by Beatrice Alemagna · Reading with picture book cinema, discussion, Q&A

What to do with all the anger that sits like a thick knot in her stomach? Where to put the feelings of guilt and fear? Yuki finds answers to these questions in Mudland, where she descends through a manhole when she's angry with her big brother.

There she meets Her Highness Mud, Princess of Mudland. With her, Yuki explores not only her realm, but also her own emotional world. A sensitive, imaginatively illustrated picture book about the complexity of emotions.

25th International Literature Festival Berlin

Young People's Program

The International Literature Festival Berlin [ilb] is one of the most important literary events worldwide. The ilb's Young People's Program is taking place at the Parkaue and presents a wide range of readings and workshops. Through direct exchange with authors and illustrators from diverse cultural backgrounds, children and young people can experience the world in all its diversity and discover it for themselves through shared reading, discussion, and experimentation.

Furthermore, it is a crucial concern to introduce young readers to exceptional and bold positions in international children's and young adult literature, both aesthetically, literarily, and in terms of content.
