Themed tours on the 72nd anniversary of the uprising of June 17, 1953

In the early history of the division of Germany, the violently suppressed popular uprising in the GDR marked a turning point. For the up-and-coming politician Willy Brandt, the events surrounding June 17, 1953 were also among the formative experiences of his time in Berlin.

Later contributions and speeches by Willy Brandt on the popular uprising also illustrate the eventful history of remembrance of June 17, 1953 in the Federal Republic of Germany.

In the themed tours on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the June 17 Uprising, they take a closer look at the historical events and Willy Brandt's relationship to this special date.

Exhibits from the exhibition in the Forum Willy Brandt will be supplemented by a multimedia presentation with additional image and video material.

The guided tours are offered at 13:00 and 15:00 and last approx. 60 minutes.

Admission and participation are free of charge.

Registration is possible by e-mail to Ms. Caro Stamm-Reusch or by telephone on 030/ 787 707 18.
