Piano Trios by Vasks and Dvořák

As one of the most promising young chamber music ensembles, Trio Orelon – winner of the 2023 ARD Music Competition – has earned a place on Europe's most important stages and was also heard in the Pierre Boulez Hall for the first time last season.

The three musicians open their current program with Pēteris Vasks's Episodi e Canto perpetuo from 1985 – a musical reflection "on a difficult journey through misery, disappointment, and the suffering of love," as the Latvian composer himself describes it.

Dvořák's Trio in F minor from 1883 provides a striking stylistic counterpoint.
