Works by Olga Neuwirth and Hans Werner Henze
Matthias Pintscher opens the Boulez Ensemble's three programs this season with a concert dedicated entirely to the dialogue between solo instrument and ensemble – each work offers its own distinctive interpretation of the concerto principle.
In Olga Neuwirth's …miramondo multiplo…, premiered in 2006 under the direction of Pierre Boulez, "cooperation, democratization, and careful listening" are at the heart of the musical interplay between individual and collective.
Hans Werner Henze takes a completely different approach: In Le Miracle de la rose (1981), the clarinet becomes the main character of an imaginary theater, inspired by Jean Genet's novel of the same name.
PROGRAM
- Olga Neuwirth - ..miramondo multiplo... for trumpet and orchestra
