To mark the 200th anniversary of the Museum Island, the monumental work by the German-British artist Michael Müller[ZO1] will be presented in the grand staircase hall of the Neues Museum.
This work explores, in abstract form, the central aspect of the myth of the mismatched twins Castor and Polydeuces: the transition between Hades and Olympus.
Composer Radoslaw Pallarz used notation fragments from the Berlin Papyrus Collection and ancient Greek texts on the myth of the Dioscuri as a model for setting the story of the twins to music. Ancient melodies, atmospheric sounds, and rousing rhythms bring the myth to life. The texts will be sung in the original and read in a dramatic setting.
Immerse yourself in a special world of sound in a place that uniquely combines architecture, art, music, and history.
Recitation and music for mezzo-soprano, cor anglais, bass clarinet, violin, viola, cello, double bass, and percussion with the ensemble MEMORIA TENERE under the direction of Radoslaw Pallarz.
- Duration: approx. 2 hours (no interval)
- Admission: €30, concessions: €20 (free seating)
