Prussia's Court Music, the chamber orchestra series of the Staatskapelle Berlin, has been in existence for more than two decades. It focuses on music from the 17th and 18th centuries, including composers and works that are particularly connected to the history of the State Opera and the Staatskapelle.
This season's concerts will focus on the music of early and middle Mozart, who, in his hometown of Salzburg and on his travels through Europe, keenly embraced the musical traditions of his time and used them productively for his own work.
In addition, the renowned Italian gambist and ensemble leader Vittorio Ghielmi will be a guest at Prussia's Court Music for a weekend, performing a program of music by the Italian Baroque composer Agostino Steffani.
A multifaceted new season with Prussia's Court Music is about to begin.
