In this digital scavenger hunt, which you’ll play on your smartphone, a spectacular mission awaits you: the Stasi are hot on your heels and are determined to stop your friend’s escape attempt. Will you manage to find and decipher the encrypted clues to the escape tunnel before they do?
Unlike a guided treasure hunt with a guide, in this digital city rally the pupils set off independently in small groups and use their smartphones to solve various puzzles and tasks.

Your class on a mission to re-enact a real escape attempt across the GDR border: this can only succeed with your help!
Your mission begins at Rosenthaler Platz and ends at the Berlin Wall Memorial. During the scavenger hunt, the class will experience an escape attempt based on a real-life story of an escape from the GDR: the art dealer Siegfried Kath became a millionaire through the art trade, despite the socialist system in the GDR. But the tide has turned for him and his influential supporters in the Ministry of Foreign Trade. Siegfried is no longer safe and wants to flee from East Berlin to West Germany. However, the Wall, his travel ban and Stasi agents are all working against him. The only hope: apparently, there is a tunnel under the Berlin Wall that could be used to escape. So far, however, this is merely a rumour. To avoid putting themselves in danger, communication regarding the illegal border crossing has been encrypted. Help Kath find and decipher the clues. Time is running out! The Stasi agents are hot on your heels, trying to find the tunnel before you do. The route takes you through the most fascinating parts of Berlin’s Wall corridor. As you follow the clues, you’ll learn about real events from the history of the GDR.

What happens if the number of pupils changes?
If there are fewer pupils than planned, the groups of four can be made smaller. If there are only groups of four and someone else joins, an additional group can be booked flexibly.
How does the support for teachers work?
Teachers remain within easy reach of the pupils throughout the tour. They can stay in the background. Any questions about the content of the tour are answered via notifications sent to their smartphones by SchoolRallye. Through the Teacher Cockpit, which includes the answers, they will know the route, the stations and the correct answers. They can view the pupils’ answers in their evaluation report for the prize-giving ceremony.
Are there free places for teachers?
There is no cost for teachers. They can follow the groups’ progress from a safe distance and use the prepared evaluation at the tour’s designated finish line for the prize-giving ceremony.
Do we need to book a date?
To ensure that you are the only group on your chosen day, you should secure it by making a booking.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If there’s a shower in the morning or afternoon, you can simply start later or take a break. In the event of very bad weather, you can cancel or reschedule your booking free of charge.
How do you start the city rally?
The teachers will receive the game codes for each group. They’ll hand these out once the groups have been formed. The groups enter the codes at the starting point – and off you go!
Do all pupils need a smartphone?
Only one smartphone is needed per group. If a battery runs out, the game can continue on another mobile using the same code.
How much data does a game use?
One game requires a maximum of 10 MB. That’s less than watching a YouTube video or spending 10 minutes on Instagram.
Does the city treasure hunt run via an app?
No, the city rally runs via the smartphone browser (Chrome, Safari, etc.). So there’s no need to download an app, and it works on all smartphones.
