Dream pop with an aura of mystery and melancholy

Bulgarian band WOOMB will be performing for the first time in Berlin at Kantine am Berghain on September 15th.

Woomb are just starting their international career. This year they performed at ESNS in Groningen and were nominated on the Music Moves Europe Award. This summer confirmed for Sziget, Electric Castle festivals.

Woomb is one of the most captivating new acts rising from Southeast Europe - a London / Sofia based duo that expands into a dynamic five-piece band on stage. The project is fronted by Hristo Yordanov, a young singer-songwriter with a background in visual arts, and Gueorgui Linev, the LA-based composer and producer known for founding Kan Wakan and working with artists like Baby Keem, Thundercat, Moses Sumney, and Emily Armstrong (Linkin Park).

Woomb is a rising Sofia based duo which morphs into an ambitious six-piece live act on stage, featuring Hristo Yordanov, a young singer-songwriter with a background in visual arts, and the US-raised composer/producer Gueorgui Linev. Gueorgui built an impressive portfolio even before Woomb - he is also known as a founder of Billboard-charting project Kan Wakan and for working with Baby Keem, Thundercat, Moses Sumney, current Linkin Park singer Emily Armstrong among others.

Formed after a random encounter at a house party, Woomb found a shared love for artists like Cocteau Twins, Björk, Slowdive and Portishead.

At the end of 2023 they played their first gigs and released debut single ‘Last Rays’, accompanied by a video combining Bulgarian pagan symbols, Greek mythology and biblical elements. Their debut EP To Never Fear the Sun is out in October 2024.

Their next phase by releasing two remixes of tracks from their debut EP “To Never Fear the Sun”: acclaimed Dutch avant-garde composer LudoWic has brought even more mystery to “Leroy St. 4” while enigmatic semi-anonymous Spanish act Cult Friends has made a complete rework on sorrowing “Nobody’s Son”.

After increased coverage and first international tours, Woomb is now one of the most exciting new acts in the South-East region. Less than two years after bursting on the scene, they proved to be not only a local phenomenon gathering a community of fans through a genre-bending sound but a creative force on an unstoppable journey. Where will it take them?
