With their extraordinary ability to translate iconic electronic albums into acoustic soundscapes, the international string quintet Wooden Elephant takes center stage at the upcoming BLINDSPOT.Series concert.

On August 31, they will present their adaptation of Björk's legendary album Homogenic in the former cultural hall of Haus 20 in the Ludwig Hoffmann Quartier – a place that has been empty for years and is being revived as an open cultural space by the BLINDSPOT.Series.

Wooden Elephant has made a name for itself by reinterpreting electronic music with classical string instruments – far removed from conventional chamber music. Using techniques such as preparation, extended playing, and the use of everyday objects (e.g., lampshades, aluminum foil, paper bags), they create dense, multi-layered soundscapes that are reminiscent of the original, but at the same time charge it with new aesthetic perspectives.

The BLINDSPOT.Series is a concert format dedicated to revitalizing a local cultural venue in Berlin-Buch and making the cultural monument accessible to the district as a place of experimentation, listening, and gathering.
