The event is an artistic homage to the struggles for recognition, reappraisal and remembrance of Rom*nja and Sinti*zze after 1945.
The poetic-musical evening takes place in the run-up to our new temporary exhibition. On the 80. On the 80th anniversary of the capitulation of the Nazi regime, the exhibition "Dignity and Resistance - Connected Struggles of Roma and Sinti*zze after 1945" tells of the interwoven nature of these struggles.the exhibition "Dignity and Resistance - Connected Struggles of Roma and Sinti after 1945" tells of the interconnectedness of these struggles and focuses on the knowledge and experiences of people who have fought and continue to fight to come to terms with the history and rights of Roma and Sinti.
It focuses on the often unmentioned and therefore less visible narratives. This includes the struggles for recognition and remembrance by Sinti*zze in the GDR, struggles for the right to stay by Roma*nja since the late 1980s and feminist Romani initiatives. What becomes visible in the exhibition as struggle, resistance and protest is transformed into a common field of sound and experience on this evening. Music and poetry interweave to create a poetic vision that points to the future.
With artistic contributions from Tayo Awosusi-Onutor, CAT Jagruva, David Nikolic and Stefan Pavlovic, among others.
